OwnTongue turns a speaker's words into live translated captions on every listener's own phone — no headsets, no interpreter booth, no app to install. We're opening to congregations, classrooms, and civic meetings shortly.

What we do with your email address

This short notice covers the sign-up form on this page. Our full privacy policy returns when OwnTongue opens.

What we keep. The address you type and the date you typed it. That is the whole waitlist record — no name, no profile, no tracking, and your IP address is not part of it.

Server logs. Separately, like any website, we keep a standard log of each request — your IP address, the page requested, the method and time, the response status, how long it took and whether it finished, and your browser's user agent. It holds no cookies, no other request headers, and no query strings. We use it to investigate abuse and technical problems, and it is deleted after 30 days.

Why. To email you about OwnTongue, starting when we open. You can ask us to stop at any time — see below.

Who sees it. Nobody outside OwnTongue. We do not sell, rent, or share the list. It is stored in Microsoft Azure in the United States, who host it for us and do not use it.

Cookies. This page sets none, and there is no analytics or advertising code on it.

Bot check. The form runs Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from scripts. That check sends your IP address to Cloudflare, who process it for us as a sub-processor. It sets no tracking cookie.

Abuse controls. We count sign-up attempts per internet address for an hour at a time so a script cannot flood the list. Those counters hold no email addresses and expire on their own.

Getting off the list. Email support@owntongue.com and we will delete your address — no need to explain.
